In-practice training is becoming increasingly popular. The training can be geared specifically to the needs of the practice and training for four or more staff can be very economical, often costing less than attendance at external courses. We have developed a series of well over fifty 2 hour, 1/2 day and full day modules covering a broad spectrum of practice management. Practices can put together various items to make up a day's training. We can also repeat morning sessions in the afternoon so that the maximum number of staff are able to attend. Our workshops always include some practical action planning so that delegates can put into practice what they have learnt and practice owners can see the results of the training investment.
Training can be with specific groups of staff such as receptionists, nurses or vets but we have also found that whenever possible the practice greatly benefits from all members of staff receiving the training. This allows excellent interaction between staff from the different disciplines and greatly improves their understanding of each other's roles in the practice and the problems they have to deal with. Whole practice training is an excellent way to improve teamwork and make sure that all staff are working with the same objective in mind.
